Teacher's Day 2007

The Teacher's Day celebration this year is the most special of all

As time was allocated for the teachers to celebrate with their students

And they, my angels and warriors, warmed my heart

PM5, with their creative gifts (from the heart)

PM8 (most surprisingly...I almost shed my tears...felt warm in the heart)

Pm11 (for the hugs from all angels, the cake from Kiat Jean, the flowers from Jia Hong, and

the most special part..."Your Raise Me Up" solo by Kiat Xiong, the discovery of the sweet voice (I was touched), and the Hero (by Kim, Claryn and Sammy)

PM12 -my mentees, haha, for having tutorial with me for 1 1/2 hrs in state of celebration/ Dota/ Pool...

My dear angels and warriors, you warmed my heart

What's Taught in Schools

I believe that education should assist the students in discovering their individual potential and developing it further
and to develop qualities
that they will need to face the world
in order to live meaningfully and happily
to enjoy the abundance that life offers

These are three important examples:
1. Talent is one-third of the success equation. Talent is important in any profession, but it is no guarantee of success. Hard work and luck are equally important. Hard work means self-discipline and sacrifice. Luck means, among other things, access to power, whether it is social contacts or money or timing. In fact, if you are not very talented, you can still succeed by emphasizing the other two. If you think I am wrong, just look around.

9. It all comes down to output.No matter how cool your computer rendering is, no matter how brilliant your essay is, no matter how fabulous your whatever is, if you can’t output it, distribute it, and make it known, it basically doesn’t exist. Orient yourself to output. Schedule output. Output, output, output. Show Me The Output.

Bangkok Trip

Why did I go for this trip?

Haha...for fun!!

Air Asia was on sale

And the gang that was going consisted of eating/ shopping and sight-seeing experts
There I went

Keeping my assignment aside for a week...

(my god, I wonder if i can complete my assignment before my next trip to Sipadan...

Better do, that's a holiday that I really look forward to...)

This Bangkok trip, I give it a 6/10.

Not that its not nice

I realise that this is not my kind of trip

Immersed in shopping in the city, with lots of people and cars every where

and the HEAT!!

Shopping is a headache to me

gotta look for things, check its quality, try it, check its price (and bargain if possible)

too much head work

I would prefer to relax, pampering myself with massage, nail painting, be with the nature

Let the mind and body rest

The only one that is near to my taste was the night river cruise with dinner, show and dance

Sitting on top of the deck, the cool breeze keep blowing onto the face, so nice

and the buildings well lit at night...the temples....the Grand Palace...the bridges (just a few meters above our heads!!)

And the best of all, romantic live songs and dance!!

Yeah...I love it....

Yeah, not forgetting about the road side stall selling BBQ pork, fried shrimps, BBQ chicken wings..

They are delicious and cheap

I have not tried the pulut with mango & durian,

Haha, I cannot believe that the coffee shop that I had my duck noodle before I left Bangkok is the most famous shop in Bangkok for duck noodle...

I just walked in and order, but the lady in charge said I have to book a table

so I looked around and spotted a table occupied by one man

so I said I can share with him

there I went, so he told me about this shop, the tourist in Bangkok, his son in Spore, the food i should try...and...haha, he cannot believe that I am a teacher...(so young? Meow meow!!)

What have I brought back with me?

4 blouses, 2 stickers and all 10 nails painted!!

RM1300...well spent for a holiday

Life's Possibilities

This holiday, up to today
Has given me space and time
To be with myself
to go deeper into my being
Queit moment alone is so nourishing
As we spent most of our time dealing with external issues and people
We seldom pay attention to this very being inside
The most important being
To listen to it, to feel it, to nurture it with love and to grow with it

I am grateful indeed
Even with this week's holiday unstructured
It turned out well
To direct me towards more meaningful thoughts and activities
That I hardly have time to pay attention to in that daily routine
(Which I call 'the madness', haha, for that's the trend in the life style, be it working or studying!!)
A WORLD OF MADNESS!!

I like this quiet life
To be in touch with my heart at every moment
that makes me feel fully alive
To feel deeply
Every thing that arises from the heart
moment to moment
be it pleasure or pain
Old wound
Suppressed into the subconcious mind

Hi, my old friends
That I have subconciously pushed and suppressed away
As I have no idea how to deal with you
Be it the pain, yearning for a sense of importance
or helplessness,

With the quieting of the mind
what I have learnt from the meditation and Christopher Moon's* workshop
starts to merge beautifully
after all, they are teaching the same technique in different names (or religion)
(Even I find what is taught in Christianity also merge...so why bother so much about name?
Most importantly it works!!)

To let the feelings rise to the surface
with acceptance and not identifying with it
let its energy accumulates to its fullest and then dissipates

This really needs courage and sincerity
to be truthful to oneself
to be responsible for all that one is feeling
Can you wait to see what happens when you accept this feelings?
Oh...a sense of peace creeped in, embraced with love
The nature of our being
is love

Life's lesson
is indeed love and forgiveness
with love, it is unconditional
non-judgemental

As what St Augustine wrote
"It is what it is.
When you speak, speak out of love.
When you are silent, be silent out of love.
When you scold, do so out of love.
When you protect each other, do so out of love.
Let love take root in your life,
And good things will bloom."

Life indeed is full of challenge
but challenges are opportunities
to go deeper
to understand
to grow
to discover the beautiful abundance
that life offers!!

Transformation

I do agree
Reading is not the same as experiencing
I have come across
A group of like-minded people
Who are sharing effective skills
to resolve the knots
to see feelings as it arises
and not to suppress or to react
but to allow it to arise to its peak and dissipate
A skill I have learnt and experienced during meditation
but long unpratised
I am reclaiming this skill
reclaiming what I have given up in effort

Let things that i magnetise in life

What a Busy Week

My 3 classes have gone for their A2 trial exam today
Yet I have tonnes of things to clear
when I first joint the college
I was busy every day preparing the lecture notes for the next day
I thought that after completing a cycle (1 1/2 yr), I will be free
No No No....
The education line is getting very competitive
Not like what others think of
Teachers just work a few hrs a day, and they are all shortsighted...????
We work more than others
Nobody sees that
We get only 1/4 of what we contribute in time and effort
let alone the increased degeneration rate due to troublesome kids

The college has come up with new idea
to attract the market
but the lecturers are the one working like a cow...
what student log, student attendance (at this age? Ya, well brought up kids?), remedial class, tutorial, exam seminar, enhancement class, student journal, mentoring, student activities, scholary activities, portfolio, forum, conference, bla bla bla....gosh...
What else do they want????
These are all added on top of the daily teachng and marking load....
Do we not have our lives than just working for the college?

They are so smart
to come up with such system
that every lecturer will have to contribute so much
Whats the point?
Putting so much more effort just to see a drop in the appraisal?
How come I always get what I have put in for all my assignment
but never for this so called college work?
with that little amt of $$
making us work >>>>
I am starting to get tired of these 'slavery'
Teaching is no longer and enjoyment, not so much, not so meaningful with those ding dong
we have become the instruments for marketing
free of charge
I am worth more than this
The universe will make way for me to get what I am worthy of!!

Even though I do enjoy teaching (to the enthusiastic students
(However, teaching lazy bumps is like pulling the cows up the trees...and speeds up degenertion rate,whats the point, might as well teach tuition, no sincerity at heart, even at their age?!! Those wearing masks ... )

I will find my new life
Doing what I love and earning many times more
contributing even more effectively to the society

The Unknown

I felt a volcano, long dormant, has become active lately
That the molten lava is finding its way out
to be released once and for all
I don't know what it is
and I'm not so sure what is happening
but I trust that those changes are bringing me closer to my destiny
my life's work
by facing and resolving knots accumulated through time
and to move on
smoothly, rapidly, joyfully, well supported, well paved path
towards my destiny in this life
I am very excited
to see the changes taking place
in its own accord
things falling into place
taking a step forward,
to receive the unknown
with trust
the power of love
the power of the pure innocent heart
to discover and to do my life's work

Discovering Your Life's Work

I have told my students about doing their lives' work
- that is doing what they love with their time & energy (life)
- it will make them feel alive, happy & fulfilled
- it will contribute to the well being of humanity, animals, plants or the earth
- when they love what they do,
they will put awareness & conciousness into all that they do
- hence putting the energy within and around into greater harmony, beauty & order
- that awareness & conciousness will bring them to enlightenment and spiritual growth
- raising them to a higher self
- which will attract abundance from the universe

....What do you love doing that will have those qualities mentioned?

What is it?

I have this funny kind of feeling this week
Hmmmm I also don't know what it is...
I am quite happy... almost the whole day
Let me reflect what causes this....

One class returned to Ms Annie
less one class to teach each day
got one extra hr to clear my work each day
to take a proper breakfast
the most important meal of the day
Bingo...more relaxed!!

Also...PM 8 not so rude this round (they speed up my degeneration rate!! )
but I don't really have any flow of E for them, too bad, its cause and effect, Karmic force
Got time to do Yoga...even one session make a lot of diffce
I am going to exc every day from yesterday onwards cause I deserve it...
Then also completed the new syllabus preparation
Assignment is on par...

I would prefer a quality life than quantity (rushing...fast food, fast pace...fast to die..., haha)
I don;t believe in the evolution of the pace of life
ppl are getting crazy
crazy over possession, money, fame...

I want to live a simple life
slow down to enjoy the little little thing
the wonder of life
the miracle of life

Can you stop to enjoy it?
Did you notice it?
Or are you rushing all the time...what for?
Life is short... but it has much to offer
only if you allow yourself to

The Expresssion of Love

One lady told me this in a workshop
There are five ways to express your love :
1. Gift
2. Quality time
3. Affirmation
4. Touch
5. Service

Different person will be more receptive to different ways
Parents ... please find it out what your kids are more receptive to
Shower your love to them
so that they will grow up happy and healthy
Friends....close friends
Relatives...

For me to my students,
it will be gift (stars and stickers),
affirmation (encouragement)
and service (notes, free tutorials, & additional assistance)
sometimes quality time too (yam cha, trips, ...)
I do hug my current students for special occasion (but girls only, haha....)
I also hug my graduated students whom I am close to...(its a hello, good bye, good luck, I miss u)
So reflecting about it, I have done all the five ways

To My Angels of 0601PM7

I have been 'baby sitting' this class for two months
Initial stage was a ????
Heard about Ms. Annie saying that they didn't want her to go for maternity
Sigh...
This kind of class I am going to take over
How will they accept me when they don't want Ms Annie to leave them???
so I will be like a step mother then?

After teachng them for two weeks, I started to like this class
they resemble my previous mentee class (0301PM3...Timothy, Matha, Chicken wing that class ...
which I have spent very enjoyable time with them and lots of trips)
We went for a class outing....to visit Ms Annie that friday of the second week
These kids are so beautiful at heart
I was touched indeed
Of their love, care, kindness, appreciation, generousity,
respect....sincerity...simplicity...and maturity!

Then weeks of Biodiversity and Conservation,
Follow by Applications of Genetics ...guess some of them didn't grasp this part
Then Biotech...my favourite
Now Crop Plants....
but...oh...really....Ms. Annie is coming back next week and
oh ....she is taking back this class???
Can... I... not... return this class to her?
I started to like this class

Having a class like this will make my day
boost my joy
haven't had such a class for some time...
I really feel a lot of difference when the students are different
I feel happy entering the class
They are interested to learn, motivated, enthusiastic
They are hard working
respectful,
serious in their studies,
scored good grades,
yet humble, disciplined, well mannered
loving, kind, cute, sincere, simple, respectful
I really love them
for their simplicity and sincerity

They are truely my angels
they will surely spread these energy of love
and turn the earth to heaven!!

I sent them an e-mail yesterday:
It has really been nice and enjoyable to teach you all,
even though its only for two months.
I hope that you will continue to strive and study hard
so that you can score as high as possible for Bio

Today is the last day...

I wonder why my heart felt this way ...ouch
for that two hours
Karen was so nice to offer me cake
when I said I felt hungry
Its those little things that they did

As they left the lab, each of them said good bye to me
Sarah and Kar Man hugged me
Oh...no more hugging or...the tears will overflow...
Cause I really like this class

Creating Money the Spiritual Way

I find this quite meaningful and I would like to share with others:

Money is energy which needs to flow smoothly...
Money and abundance will flow in greater amts,
easier to hold,
and give you more joy,
when you follow the spiritual law of money:
Do your life's work to honour and serve the higher good of others;
Cooperate rather than compete with others;
Make every exchange of money a WIN WIN situation for both parties;
(that means u offer a price that you think you deserve...not lower...)
Make, invest and spend money in a way that does not harm the earth;
And also Man-made laws:
Financial planning;
Time management;
Cash flow management;
marketing;
taxes;
and business planning.

You will need less energy
to attract, save and create more money
if you are in harmony with both the spiritual and man-made laws of money

Having abundance will be meaningful
when you use it as an agent
to reflect your integrity
compassion and love for others
putting the energy around you
into higher order, greater harmony and a more beautiful state

Let your prosperity be based on the amt of good you contribute to the world!!

(An easier way to understand is:
Imagine the flow of money as the cyling of matter such as carbon on earth
This cycle must be continous for the benefit of all living things on earth
so if you want money to flow in,
you will also need to be ready as an agent to receive and pass it on
for the benefit of the living things on earth (including yourself!!))

The Secret of the Heart

There are things that will not unfold
until the mind settles down
away from the routine task
that consume much energy and attention from the mind

Stop and listen to the heart
It has much secret to tell you
Things of the past that you could have forgotten
or even unaware of...

The vow one has made
The mistakes one has done
The grudges one has held
Things one has not let go of
The people one has loved
that you thought you have forgotten or let go of
These will slowly surface
like peeling the onion leaf one after another
to reveal more and more
about the secret of the heart

Once these are exposed,
be wise to resolve them
one by one
so that the heart gets lighter and ligther
becoming more spaceous
brighter
happier
until nothing negative is left
Fill it with the energy of unconditional love...
Energy from doing the work of life
Bringing one to a higher self and conciousness
Until it overflows
to the people around you!!

Truely My Day

2 weeks of the new semester have passed.
2 weeks of late night preparation of the new syllabus!!
Syllabus for Biodiversity and Conservation, & Gene Technology
Sleeping at 1.00 to 2.30pm has become a norm
I wouldn't want to do this unnessarily as the physical exhaution will drain the mental energy the next day.

However, its a celebration for me today onwards.
I have completed the lessons for Gene Technology.
Next will be Biotech, which I have prepared last year.
So back to normal sleeping hour.
This has become a luxury.
Hope those dark rings will disappear.

A day, started with yoga, reflection of abundance and purpose in life
Hope have more time for meditation but the appointment is near
Then acupressure
Then a good western lunch
Then see the optometrist..and had a chat, after all, we are from the same uni!!
Then get a rubber hose for some plumbing work at home!! A do it yourself thing@@
Then buy some goody herbs to cool down the "fire" from late night sleep
Then omg, left only RM6 for fruits, no worries...buy local fruits then, enough for a week, haha!
Forgot I have no money left and proceeded to my favourite flower shop
to get a teddy for myself
Cause afterall, I bought one for each of my teddy bear
so I must also have one, then only is complete.

nvm, as a Mamee to my teddies, I will have a diff colour than, cream is nice!!
Bought it, but Oh Oh...where is the $$$$$

Let the unlimited POSITIVE energy flows smoothly
like the natural cycle on earth (C cycle, N cycle...etc)

I want to be the agent of the flow
The flow of positive energy
the flow of love
the flow of abundance
To reach out as far and many as possible
That's my work in life

I thank you for the opportunity for me to see this more clearly lately,
Be it good karma ripening, be it guardian helping,
be it difficult conditions that have helped me to grow
and not only that, to learn how to resolve the obstacles
and to learn how to create and attract abundance
and to learn how to use them in the right way!!
