Re-experiencing My Interest

Finally I got the video and some picts of the prom nite from Shen.

Had a very comfortable, very enjoyable night yesterday

Holiday

I have 2 weeks' semester break starting from today
I really look forward to go to Redang
Back to the nature
with the crystal clear, blue sea water
the long stretch of beach
and UU Huuu...the fishes, baby sharks, squids, turtles & coral that await me
Relaxing under the sun and the gentle breeze
or have a luxurious nap the whole afternoon, doing nothing!!

Then back to get a few things done...while doing household meditation & listening to Sayadaw's talk!!
Clear some old stuff for recycling
Student Portfolio research
Taylor's Teaching and Learning Conference Paper (Abstract by 1st August)
And also to look at possible research for future paper
Aiyo, not forgetting to prepare the Powerpoint slides for KIDNEY

This is the Last Time!!

This friend whom I knew in meditation retreat in Lunas
She came from Penang to stay with me a few years ago
for a month to learn Chi Kung from a master here in KL
My intention to give her the assistance and convenience ended up with tonnes of 'bad luck' for myself
I have always been very lucky and smooth sailing
until she started staying with me ...
This is really unbelievable!!
Thank god finally, after almost 6 mths, she left and leave me in peace!!

This year she called me up again to get assistance to register for a workshop in KL
its my mistake to offer her to stay with me for that 1 week workshop
as i am too enthusiastic to help
but deep in the heart, I was quite reluctant to let her stay with me any furhter
due to the incidences in the past

So there she came last week...
Reluctantly, i gotta add one bed into my room to accomodate her
First night, my bad luck happens
I could not sleep the whole night...
and as a consequence, I sprain my neck very badly, can;t turn and very painful
Gotta even call my mum to fetch me to see doctor as I cannot turn my head, I cannot drive.

In the subsequent days, it seems ok...she loved cooking so she bought a lot of things to cook.
And she also asked all my house mates to eat. So all of them are very happy!!
One day, she came and told me that she spoiled my rice cooker as she could not press down the on button any more. Since i hardly cook rice at home, I said its ok (knowing that she is a very rough person).

Alas...two days ago, I saw her putting a piece raw pork meat in my blue plastic basin meant for rinsing vege and fruits only!! I was very angry as i am VERY FUSSY with meat debris not to be mixed with food to be eaten raw (sinced I was trained as a Microbiologist in uni)!! I told her that and I requested her to ask me which one to use next time before using!!

Later on, I also discovered that she also used the cutting board and knife meant for vege to cut raw meat @@. Why again did not ask any one of us !! She has no brain NO BRAIN NO BRAIN LA!! As a guest, you do not know people's things, then must ask before use la!! This time, my volcano...which has been dormant for ages can no longer contain the lava due to the intense tornado and Tsunami!! BANG!!

Could not talk yesterday because I was so furious...then she kept coming to talk to me...leave me alone la...last time like that, this time also like that, before one week already created so much inconvenience for me!! I really regretted inviting her to stay just because i wanna help her.

This, I swear...is the LAST TIME THAT I WILL allow her into my house as a guest!! i have learnt my lesson well!!

Now I still need to go and see the chiropractor as my neck has not healed since then.

I cannot believe that a person can actually bring a lot of bad luck to others...until I met this one...and another one who was my student!!

Outcome of the Interview

Two things to say:
The good comment is that the interviewer was impressed with the amount of things that I have done so far
The encouragement/ expectation from them was to take more of a leader role ...
I look forward to the good news then!!

Abundance Flowing into my Life

A Friend from Heaven

I am glad that the universe sent me this friend
Who is ever generous in lending a hand
whenever i needed help

This friend
a very good hearted person
has a vibration...similar to my eldest brother
whom I missed so much
as he has migrated to Australia 2 years ago

This brother of mine
whom I have grown up with
I missed him....missed him....missed him...
We have played together, go to school together, joke together... we have spent so much time together
I hope that he lives happily there
A life of his own
A family of his own

So this friend of mine
is like my brother
whom I can play with
whom I can joke freely from my heart
I thank the universe for this

Student Course Evaluation

I just received the report on 0701PM7, 0703PM12 & PM13's students' evaluation
I was surprise to see all positive feedback.
Happy indeed.

These are a few interesting comments:
- Don't scream so much, treat us to coffee more often, maybe bring some kopiko to class.
(repeated by 3 person!!)
- dun condense and evaporate so fast aaaaa...charged particle happy go lucky ooooo and treat us to more coffee and food (i wonder how come 4 person got repeated comment!!) =) next time i side u =) from ur little brother
- more student participation/ gp work

These are very uplifting comments:
- Ms Ho is such a fabulour lecturer.I like her class the most among all the subjects. intersting, relaxing but of course stressing and headache some times. overall she helps us a lot in proceeding our goals.
- she 's very helpful lecturer! she's also v ery good mentor. she's sum one we could talk to bout an difficulties that we are having...she has helped me instudies as wel as moral support
- sometimes she is a bit hot tempered...but overall she is a good teacher. very responsible.
- very friendly, interacts well and cares about students.
- very good, Makes Biology seem more simpler!
- she is a very good lecturer... her teaching makes me interested in bilogy and plan to take biotech in university.

And this sounds awesome!!
- Way too awesome to be 'just' a lecturer.

Lesson of the Day

I really enjoy the night
When I am on my own
to be in touch with my mind/ soul
Reading the book which can enrich my life

Reading this book is like taking a journey of self healing
transformation
I suddenly felt the inner potential
to heal myself
from all the past 'hurt'

The time has come
for me to set my mind free
from these meaningless & unnessary burden of the past
Yes, this is it.

The light of love shines into my very being, my mind, my body, my soul
From within and around
Love (I) accepts myself fully as who I am
Love (I) accepts every being fully as who they are
All are well, perfect and whole.

Through the willingness to forgive all the people
that I can think of
I release the past

And to welcome the light of love & abundance into my life

for I suddenly realise that
the lesson that i need to learn all these years
is to forgive
with love
(Thanks to all the great beings that show me the way!!)
I am starting to experience and appreciate the abundance flowing into my life easily
from all directions, in all forms
And I am part of the flow of abundance in the universe

You Can Heal Your LIfe - Louis Hay

I am so glad that I found this book!!
Its a gift from the universe indeed!!
I have learnt to trust the universe more and more lately.
Things happen for a good reason!!
I went to MPH last week looking for this book.
The computer system showed that there was one book in the shop but the shop keeper could not find it.
Luckily, she did not find it.
Why?
In the following week, I received a RM80 MPH voucher from my company.
And since the book is RM39, I called the same MPH this time to reserve two copies for me
It is efficient indeed. After 2-3 days, I received a call from them, and the books are ready to be collected!!
I didnt expect such a rapid response!!
There i went, using the voucher to get the two books. One for me, one for whoever the universe send it to...I have two person in mind. I am not sure who to give.
I ask the universe to give it to the person who will appreciate and benefit the most from this book.
First lesson from the book:
" Love is every where
I am loving and lovable!"

A Day of Relaxation

This is the day
in this semester
I felt most relax at work
I only have 1 hr of teaching
and I have the rest of the time to slowly make my Powerpoint
In the way that I like!!
It has been so rush for me when the 3 senior classes are still around
when I need to teach for half a day, do some admin stuff...
then left only the precious hrs at night to prepare the Powerpoint for the next day
leaving me either 'unsatisfactory slides'
or skipping my precious sleep hours...@@

I am evolving now
from a PANDA BEAR @@
back to a polar Bear...hehe...
And lots of time to eat my breakfast every day
and gain back my long lost weight...

Not to mention the yoga and 10 min meditation in this morning is a very good start
I find myself more grounded today
my thermometer is 60-70% < sensitive ....
"Whatever I do brings me joy and aliveness!!"

Make a Choice

'Everything I do brings me aliveness and growth"
This is the affirmation that I read today.

Every one of us want to be happy,
but we have not been brought to see the the unhappiness that we habour
is all due to our own thinking pattern
usually our response have been the first two, rather than the last two:
1) Blame others
2) Blame ourselves
3) Be aware of our feelings and needs
4) Be aware of other's feelings and needs

Why?
The nature of the society has been training us to response in the first two manner
the language of the king... or the ego...I m right, you are wrong...
We are not trained to see the nature of the mind
and to see through the real cause of the unhappiness
its the trick of the mind
wearing alll sorts of mask to delude us, to ask for our attention to believe in it
it by its nature has no force, but when we give credit to it, it will expand and ...ouch engulf the whole being

So how?
Sharpen the conciousness
sit back and watch the mind...
at every moment
when we shine the light of counciousness to the mind
then we can see that behind it, its nobody
its just a stream of mind and matter
arising and passing away
due to conditioning
yet we are caughT
due to EGO...
Slap the ego...ya...SLAP IT!!
The more we can see its true nature, the more it will loose its power on us
because then we understand, what brings joy, what's not

so I choose
'Everything I do brings me aliveness and growth"
supported with daily meditation

A Morning in Touch with the Being

In this very special day,
the day when Buddha attained enlightenment
I am very glad to have the chance to join this group of like-minded people
In Clove and Clive
To be in resonance with the being right here
the being that is formless
other than awareness of the arising of things
which is the nature of the existance
moment to moment
Bringing back my memory of the past meditation
a glimpse of the nature of the mind
and how by believing that is 'me' doing all this thinking, seeing, hearing, tasting and touching
which is the nature on its own
the mask of ego wanted some attention
all the time
without that just being
sitting back and observing
the mind will get caught to that being'I'
seeing the difference between the conditioning of the world
and the existence in its pure essence
so spacious, so free, so joyous, never before
this path, i want to continue to seek
to understand deeper
and to free myself from the conditioning
to attain the highest freedom
highest joy
highset peace
is the conditioning of suffering not enough yet...???

Deep in the Center of my Being there is an Infinite Well of Love

I now allow this love to flow to the surface.
It feels my heart, my body, my mind, my conciousness, my very being, and radiates out from me in all directions and returns to me multiplied.
The more love I use and give, the more I have to give,
the supply is endless.
The use of love makes me FEEL GOOD, it is an expression of my inner joy.
I love myself therefore, I take loving care of my body.
I lovingly feed it nourishing foods and beverages,
I loveinlgy groom it and dress it,
and my body lovingly responds to me with vibrant health and energy.
I love myself therefore - I provide for myself a comfortable home,
one that fills all my needs and its a pleasure to be in.
I fill the rooms with the vibrations of love so that all who enter,
myself included, will feel this love and be nourished by it.
I love myself therefore, I work at a job that I truly enjoy,
one that uses my creative talents, and abilities, working with and for people -
that I love and that love me,
and earning a good income.

Ma Daerah Turtle Sacntuary Beach Cleaning

The simple accomodation (no air cond, lots of mosquitoes & common toilet in walking distance!!)
The beautiful beach where the turtles will visit at night to lay eggs!!

This was a last minute decision. BP Acetyl Petronas, one of the company that assists the Fishery Department to maintain the turtle sanctuary extended their invitation to Taylor's Pre-U students to their company beach clean up activity.

This area is under the surveillance of the Fishery Department to ensure a undisturbed beach for the turtles to lay eggs and there is a hatchery to ensure maximum hatching and returning of the turtles into the sea.

This place is only opened to the public over the week ends from April to August and only 20 pax can go per week end!! So there we went (6 SAM students, 4 CAL students, my two good travel ‘kaki’). The van took the students and three of us in my cosy car.

Love the idea of being able to contribute to conservation!!

I m also very impressed with such 6 star hospitality by Encik Halmie, our host !!

The itenary for the normal week end camp (RM240, April - August) is as follows:

5.00 pm - Arrival and check-in of volunteers
5.30 pm - Briefing by facilitators
6.00 pm - Settling in
7.30 pm - Dinner
8.15 pm - Briefing/Video Presentation and grouping
8.30 pm - Beach patrol 1st group
1.00 am - Beach patrol 2nd group
5.30 am - End of beach patrol

Day 2

7.30 am - Beach clean-up if necessary
8.00 am - Breakfast
9.00 am - Excavate hatched nests, analyse unhatched eggs and record data
10.00 am - Free at leisure
12.30 pm - Lunch & free at leisure
4.00 pm - Tea & free at leisure
5.30 pm - Continue nest excavation
6.30 pm - Inspection of nests for hatchling emergence at regular intervals, release of hatchlings
7.30 pm - Dinner
8.30 pm - Beach patrol 1st group
1.00 am - Beach patrol 2nd group
5.30 am - End of beach patrol

Day 3

8.30 am - Breakfast
10.00 am - Check out & good bye

Korea BBQ

I am very free on this Labour Day. Just want to take a day off doing nothing.
So I decided to catch up with these two lovely angels from 0601PM8.
We had a nice Korean BBQ at Han Wu Re Restaurant above Koptiam at Taipan.
We all learn about how 'thick skin' we are when I requested for 'free' plate of fried glass noodle.
Then Li Sian requested for another bowl of dessert drink for all of us
And the most surprising thing is that Gim Leng can drink so much after a meal
4 bowls of dessert drink....:-P
The BBQ pork was really juicy and tasty!!
Then we proceeded to Kopitiam downstairs to order for more
'growing kids need lots of food!!'
haha

It was an enjoyable evening. Catching up with my angels and seeing that they are well and happy is joyious indeed!!
